The objective of the rig design on a Paradise
60 is ease of handling for two people. The mast is carbon fiber
made by Hall Spars & Rigging,
incorporating three spreaders swept back 21 degrees, rod rigging,
Leisure Furl boom and hydraulic
power furling.
The Paradise 60 has been designed to be easily driven by a moderately
short rig with a small fore triangle and a full batten main.
Chain plates are outboard
at hull sides with the lower shrouds placed inboard. This gives a clear side
deck from bow to stern. The inner forestay is Kevlar with a removable hydraulic
trimmer. There is a Reckmann RF. 90 hydraulic Genoa furler.

No traveler is
used on the Paradise 60 design. Sail shape is controlled by the
hydraulic vang. The main is sheeted to what we call a roll bar. The
roll
bar
incorporates the main sheet, sailing instruments, cockpit lights, engine
ventilation and bimini top, as well as a great place for handrails.
